Why Is the African American Financial Experience Different
As TheStreet kicks-off its coverage of Black History month we want to look at the African American financial experience from different angles. We start with a look at how African Americans view their financial health. Valerie Coleman Morris, Author of “It’s Your Money So Take it Personally,” says African Americans tend to have a positive outlook on the economy which goes back to their survival instincts that “tomorrow has to be better than today.” Coleman Morris says that culturally, the African American community is one where money is not discussed and that could hinder the idea that it’s something to be kept secret. TheStreet’s Cherella Cox has details from Wall Street.
