Virginia Seminary Pays Reparations to Descendants of Black Americans

Charles Blow sits down with Ebonee Davis, the associate for Multicultural Ministries and Programming at the Virginia Theology Seminary, to talk about the seminary paying reparations to the descendants of Black Americans who worked there and helped build it between 1823 and 1951.

Descendants will receive $2,100 a year from a $1.7 million fund.

“We know it’s not a lot of money, we know it’s not enough, we know it doesn’t even begin to fix anything, but it’s a start,” Davis tells Blow.

All this and more on “Prime.”
