SJ police officer no longer with dept. after racist texting scandal: ‘I hate black people’

San Jose Police Chief Anthony Mata announced Friday that an officer is no longer employed by the department after internal investigation found that he sent “disgusting” racist text messages. The texts seemingly reference a 2022 incident in which then-officer McNamara shot a man at a restaurant.
