Shembe church members venture into politics

Some members of the Nazareth Baptist Church, also known as Shembe in KwaZulu-Natal, are planning to radically change the political landscape. They launched the Afrika Unite Congress in Durban today.

The party says it may contest next year’s election, depending on the will of its members.
