Bonaparte will talk about the fallacies of society’s perceptions about black-owned businesses and overcoming the statistical odds of a large percentage of black-owned businesses, unfortunately, closing down. You don’t want to miss this fascinating story on how Bonaparte uncovers the truth and history behind these inventive yet marginalized businesses.
Deon Bonaparte, born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Illinois, is a 28-year-old entrepreneur, speaker, brand expert, and was recently featured as a top black entrepreneur to follow in Yahoo finance. As an entrepreneur, he founded NDVU + LAB Brand Marketing Agency and scaled his business revenue to six figures within the first year of launching. As a brand expert, Deon helps small business owners, entrepreneurs, and public figures build their brands and creative ideas successfully through brand clarity. As a speaker, he discovered that his limitation of speech disfluency was actually his superpower and has emerged with confidence, facing his fear, to tell his powerful story in hopes to change the world, leaving his legacy of perseverance for generations to come. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at
