In this clip, Nick Cannon spoke about the crippling effects colorism has had on the Black community. He and DJ Vlad discussed the issue from a music industry/entertainment perspective and noticed how many of the chart-topping acts are all light, to fair-skinned women. Despite running off a few anomalous artists, the overwhelming majority of women that are considered beautiful are not of darker complexion. Nick even said that he has to explicitly ask for dark skinned women to be represented on Wild ‘N Out, otherwise the whole cast of Wild ‘N Out girls would be “beige.”
