Newburgh Heights swears in first African American Mayor
After 118 years, Newburgh Heights will have their first African American Mayor as Gigi Traore is sworn into office.
Traore said that it’s an indescribable feeling for her and her family that she will be the first African American Mayor of Newburgh Heights.
Traore also said its a great opportunity. And that the village is past the bruises left behind by former Mayor Trevor Elkins. Elkins pleaded guilty to charges related to campaign finances.
