A North Carolina Sheriff resigns after audio of him calling black people black bastards get released.
Columbus County Sheriff Captain Jason Soles recorded Sheriff Jody Greene during a phone conversation where Greene unleashed a racist rant about black employees at the County Sheriff’s office.
In his rant, Greene talked about his black political rival, a black sergeant in his department, and a black detention officer. The audio was reported to County Commissioners, but only one responded to the complaint. North Carolina’s State Bureau of Investigation is looking into allegations of obstruction of justice by the now former Columbus County sheriff and deputies under his command.
