Moon promises to ensure ‘cultural freedom’

문 대통령 “문화계 블랙리스트 다시는 없을것,… 자유 최대 보장”

In a New Year’s meeting with a number of cultural figures, President Moon Jae-in vowed to ensure cultural freedom.
The president referred to the previous Park Geun-hye administration’s infamous blacklist of cultural figures who were critical of the then-government,… and promised to prevent such incidents from happening again.
The Korean leader also vowed efforts to improve the welfare of those in the cultural sector.
He also praised recent accomplishments in the nation’s entertainment front, including “Parasite” winning the first Golden Globe in Korea’s cinema history, as well as the growing global popularity of K-pop band BTS.
