Kamala Harris' pitch to African American voters falls flat

Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris made history for being the first black woman on a US election ticket for a major party, however public support in the black community has been underwhelming.

There are still doubts about whether she will be able to win black American voters who didn’t turn out for the Democrats in 2016.

Race relations in the United States reached breaking point after the death of African American man George Floyd who died following his arrest by police.

Ms Harris’ history as a prosecutor is regarded with suspicion by many voters.
