Jesse Williams received a standing ovation for his comments while accepting the 2016 BET Humanitarian Award Sunday. The Grey’s Anatomy actor gave a rousing five minute speech, criticizing cultural appropriation and police brutality and praising Black Women. He also had words for critics of the Black Lives Matter movement, saying “If you have no interest in equal rights for black people then do not make suggestions for those who do. Sit down.”
