How will the new Task Force on Reparations help repair Boston’s past with enslavement? | Basic Black
On this episode, we discuss Boston’s new Task Force on Reparations and the challenges of acknowledging, repairing and repaying a debt to Black people that some say is overdue. It’s a complicated issue — 25 cities, including Boston, are looking at reparations. Will the measures work or will the federal government step in with a national policy?
Joining host Callie Crossley on the panel: Carrie Mays, youth activist, student at U-Mass Boston, and Member of Boston’s Task Force on Reparations; Traci Griffith, Director, Racial Justice Program, ACLU Massachusetts; and George “Chip” Greenidge, Member of Boston’s Task Force on Reparations, and Founder and Director, Greatest MINDS.
