How Greensboro is supporting Black-owned businesses
According to the U.S. Census Bureau says close to 43% of Greensboro’s population is African American.
As that number continues to grow, we spoke with one city department dedicated to growing the number of minority-owned businesses.
Greensboro’s Minority and Women Business Enterprise team has one goal, to make sure that the city is doing its part to help bring minority-owned businesses to the area and to help keep them there.
The Minority and Women Business enterprise office or the M.W.B.E as they are called was created to make sure that the City of Greensboro ensures that minority and women-owned businesses are afforded the opportunity to participate in the city’s contracting processes for commodities, construction, and many other professional services.
