Financial Independence & Black Wealth Creation – Virtual 2020 ALC
In the midst of COVID-19, it is more pressing now than ever to have sustainable financial freedom for the African-American community. Despite significant economic progress over the past decades, African-Americans receive fewer loans to grow their businesses, are least likely to invest in financial instruments, and lack the financial literary tools to transform our communities. However, the mounting social pressure has provided a soundboard to highlight these problems with a listening ear to the solutions to support black-owned businesses. To tackle these issues, seeking financial independence in the form of a start-up business, side hustle, or innovative investing portfolio has shown potential to revitalized African-American communities. This session will bring together a wide range of Black entrepreneurs, stock traders, and financial gurus to discuss the importance of financial independence and its connection to social mobility in the midst of this pandemic. Sponsored by Prudential.
