ESTHER MARSLOWE RESTORING INDIGENOUS CULTURE AMONG YOUTHS
For too long, indigenous youths have been faced with discrimination and marginalization because of their cultural differences. But the young Esther Marslowe has created a space where indigenous youths are learning to use their cultural identity to become strong and resilient individuals through her project “Ignite”. Started in 2019, Ignite focuses on important areas like indigenous cultural literacy and development. Marslowe who is the current reigning Miss Amerindian Heritage Queen, believes that merging traditional knowledge with modern knowledge is the way for the indigenous culture to be sustained
