Emmy Award Nominations Show Black Excellence on Full Display

The nominations for the 73rd Emmy Awards were announced, and Black excellence will be on display on awards night in September.

BNC Correspondent Anita Bennett is live in North Hollywood and joins “BNC Live” with Tashanea Whitlow with a look at the nominees. Black Hollywood cleaned up in the acting categories when the nominations were announced by Emmy award-winning duo Ron Cephas Jones and Jasmin Cephas Jones. The pair made history in 2020 as the first father-daughter pair to win Emmy Awards in the same year. Mj Rodriguez made history as the first transgender woman to be nominated for an Emmy in a major acting category. Lovecraft Country, which was recently canceled, received 18 nominations.
