DR Congo officially joins the East African Community
The Democratic Republic of Congo has officially become a member of the East African Community, raising the number of partner states to seven. The admission followed the endorsement of the report of the EAC Council of Ministers on Friday and the heads of state, during a virtual meeting chaired by community chairperson Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta. DRC’s admission to the EAC also followed increased emphasis by heads of state on the economic benefits of the expansion with a projected 50 per cent increase in population size and the Gross Domestic Product at 25%. #NTVNews #NTVTonight #NTVWeekendEdition
