Dr. Ben Carson Clarifies CPAC Comments About Values of Black Community

The Conservative Political Action Conference, known as CPAC, wrapped Sunday and their theme was America UnCanceled. Among the event speakers was Dr. Ben Carson, the former leader of the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Carson joins Del Walters on “DC Today” to answer questions about his comments at CPAC, the COVID-19 pandemic, the mental fitness of former president Donald Trump, the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol and his work at HUD. When asked about the 2020 Presidential election, Carson claims there were “irregularities.” At the CPAC Conference, Carson said government assistance had a negative impact on the Black community. He clarifies what his comments meant, saying that Black people were able to withstand slavery, Jim Crow, segregation and discrimination because of “strong family connections, strong sense of community and faith in God.”
