Race has deep roots in America. Even after the Civil Rights Movement had been successful in establishing racial equality by law, the fight for dignity, justice and fair play has never gotten over. Black Americans have constantly been pushed back, deprived & discriminated against. Now they face alarming levels of police action.
George Floyd only broke open a dam of resentment that had been building over the years. But this is not just the story of America or just Black Lives – the reason why #BLM finds a strong echo in other parts of world – is because similar or worse levels of discrimination against minorities is happening in virtually every part of the world!
