What is the Black Homeownership Initiative: Building Black Wealth?

The Building Black Wealth Campaign is CalHFA’s initiative to increase black homeownership in California and address the housing injustice that has plagued our state for far too long. Looking at homeownership through a lens of equity, you immediately see that black homeownership is far behind. CalHFA’s Building Black Wealth campaign will address this lack of homeownership with outreach that will include homeownership education and connections to resources such as free housing counseling and down payment assistance.
