Centuries-old black community still on the margins in Iraq

“We demand from the Iraqi government, to include representatives of the black community and to set a quota for them. Since the establishment of the Iraqi state, we have not seen someone from the community occupy senior positions in the state. We have not seen a governor, a minister or a lawmaker.”
