Burkina Faso gov’t denies army takeover after barracks gunfire
The government of Burkina Faso has denied reports that the army has taken control of the country. It comes after heavy gunfire was heard at multiple military camps, including a key base in the capital, Ouagadougou.
On Saturday, security forces fired tear gas at protesters barricading the streets and throwing rocks. There is anger at the government’s inability to stop armed attacks across the country.
