Boots on the Ground: A look at Minneapolis' exhausted Black community after George Floyd | USA TODAY
USA TODAY spent nearly two months covering the Black community in Minneapolis, before, during and after the murder trial and conviction of former police officer, Derek Chauvin, who killed George Floyd. We talked to, photographed and made videos of traumatized, frustrated and inspired residents who are connected through generational trauma and a history of police violence.
“Boots on the Ground” examines what needs to happen for these killings by police to end and what it would mean to Black Americans who are exhausted by this reality.
