Black News Channel Update on Collapsed Building in Surfside

BNC’s Lauren McCoy has an update on the missing people from the collapsed building in Surfside.

The death toll has risen to 12 people so far, and there are still 149 unaccounted for. The search and rescue team are now on day 7 of their search for missing people. Search and rescue is getting desperate to find people, but unfortunately won’t be able to access certain parts of the rubble because it is unsafe for them to do so.

President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden will be in Surfside on Thursday to speak with families who have family members missing, and with rescue teams. Structural engineers will start looking at what cause the collapse by analyzing debris. So far, the teams have removed 3 million pounds of concrete.
