Black History Month 2020 Celebration of Culture
To celebrate Black History Month the city of Phoenix and the National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA) Central Arizona Chapter present a Celebration of Culture honoring the contributions of African American citizens that are woven into the fabric of our society throughout the nation and our city.
The event features musical performances by Kawambe-Omowale African Drum & Dance Theatre, Whitnie M. Young, Ron Williams, and the Black Theatre Troupe. Keynote speaker, Dr. Warren H. Stewart, Sr., will present a history of African Americans in Arizona entitled, “And We Are Still Here!”. Master of Ceremonies and Spoken Word artist, Truth B. Told, will recite his poem “Open Letter to America”. The celebration concludes with an audience participation performance of “Who Am I?”.
