The summer of 2020 has brought attention to issues of social, racial, and economic justice. In 2021, as we move toward restoration and economic justice, we need to examine the role of Black entrepreneurship and the challenges facing these leaders as they work toward improving socio-economic mobility for Black Americans. This presentation will discuss the history of black entrepreneurship, challenges faced by Black entrepreneurs, “The Social Welfare Effect” of Black entrepreneurship, and steps that can be taken to support Black entrepreneurs moving forward.
