Black Business Olympics, Literary Edition, Day 2, Morning Session
The Black Business Olympics Literary Edition event is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at addressing the pressing issue of book banning and censorship, with a particular focus on supporting black authors, literary agents, bookstores, and writers. Taking place February 12th through February 16th, this virtual event offers a platform for these voices to come together, share their stories, and advocate for literary freedom.
At the Black Business Olympics Literary Edition Virtual Event, the black community can take several impactful actions to address the issue of banned books and support literary freedom. The event will raise Awareness: Host panel discussions, fireside chats, and presentations focused on the issue of authors book discussions, the literary business, the impact of agents, how to promote a book, book banning, and censorship in schools. Educate attendees about the prevalence of banned books, the impact on marginalized communities, and the importance of defending freedom of expression.
The event will Advocate for Change to discuss policies that protect the right to access diverse literature in schools and libraries. Encourage speakers to talk about their books, express their concerns, and demand action against book banning.
The black Business Olympics will Promote Black Authors: Highlight the work of black authors who have been disproportionately affected by book-banning efforts. Showcase their books, share their stories, and celebrate their contributions to literature. Support black-owned bookstores and encourage attendees to promote their books by black authors.
Empower Young Readers: Provide resources and support for young readers who may be impacted by book bans in their schools and create safe spaces for students to explore and hear from diverse perspectives and voices in literature.
Speakers: Facilitate open and honest discussions about their book, representation, and the importance of diverse voices in literature. Speakers may Encourage the audience to share their experiences by writing a book where ideas can be freely exchanged.
Collaborate with Allies: the event will forge partnerships with other authors, speakers, organizations, and communities that are also working to combat book banning and censorship. The event will serve as a tool for joining forces with allies from diverse backgrounds, we can amplify our message and strengthen our collective efforts to defend literary freedom.
Support Black Business Literary Organization: Donate to and volunteer with our organization that are actively fighting Provide financial support, volunteer your time, and help spread the word about our initiatives and campaigns.
