Black American West Museum & Cultural Heritage Center Social Media Campaign
This video is for a CH CARES Humanities Relief Grant due to COVID-19. Founded in 1971 by Paul Stewart, the Black American West Museum & Heritage Center is a 501(c) nonprofit (see The mission focuses on the contributions African American settlers had on the development of the Western United States through its collections, programs, exhibits, events and inclusive community engagement. It is operated by dedicated community volunteers and leaders who are predominately African American women. A historic building is the museum and it was the former home of Dr. Justina Ford (1871–1952) – Colorado’s first licensed African American female doctor, who helped deliver over 7,000 babies in Denver during her career.
