The Reservation Bachao Sangharsh Samiti has called for a Bharat Bandh on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, in response to a recent Supreme Court ruling on reservations for Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs). The Supreme Court’s Constitutional Bench delivered a landmark verdict on August 1, mandating states to identify and exclude the ‘creamy layer’ within SCs and STs from quota benefits.
