Anti-CRT Parents Want Books by Black and Queer Authors Banned
Parent groups are now rallying against books written by Black and queer authors.
The latest ban took place in North Kansas City in Missouri, as an anonymous complaint was made about two books. The district administration immediately removed the 2008 graphic novel “Fun Home” and the 2020 personal essay collection “All Boys Aren’t Blue” from the library shelves of four high schools in two school districts.
George M. Johnson is the author of “All Boys Aren’t Blue,” which is also currently in development at Gabrielle Union’s “I’ll Have Another Productions” to be produced as a TV series.
They join Marc Lamont Hill on “Black News Tonight” to discuss people trying to ban these types of books.
All this and more on “Black News Tonight.”
