African Union to become permanent member of G20

World Leaders have arrived in New Delhi for the G20 summit.

The summit kicked off with the announcement that the African Union would be joining the G20 as a permanent member of the group.

G20 members have unveiled a major trade pact between Europe, the Middle East and India – being likened to a modern-day Spice Route.

Meantime, the decision by China’s President Xi Jinping to skip the global summit has raised concerns.
