African leaders urge negotiations and diplomacy to resolve Russia-Ukraine conflict



The leaders of the Africa Peace Mission have called on the Russia-Ukraine War to be settled through negotiations and diplomatic means.

These were among the 10 proposals that were tabled before Russian President Vladimir Putin.

President Ramaphosa together with other African heads of State including; Zambia, the Comoros and Senegal and Heads of Government of Congo Brazzaville, Egypt, and Uganda engaged Putin after meeting with Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday.

Bilateral talks were also held between Pretoria and Moscow regarding the upcoming BRICS summit and Putin’s arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court.
