Why Centre says Hindus can get minority status in some states

The Supreme Court is currently a petition which wants Hindus to be granted minority status in states and union territories where their numbers have gone below other communities.

And in response, the Centre has said that States can in fact designate Hindus as minorities if they are lesser in number in that particular State. In today’s #ThePrintKYC episode, Apoorva Mandhani tells you what a minority is, what the definition is, and who decides who is a minority.
