Rape cases are rising where indigenous Assamese are minorities: Assam CM

Quick Update: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, during his visit to Hailakandi on Friday, expressed concern regarding the minor’s rape case in Nagaon’s Dhing. While talking to the media, Sarma stated, “Crimes like the Dhing rape have increased in areas where indigenous Assamese people have become minorities.” “The government is taking steps to tackle such incidents,” asserted Sarma. He further confirmed that a particular community is involved in this incident, and he has asked Assam DGP GP Singh to take strong action.
