Kamala Harris named as first female black-American candidate for Vice-President – BBC News



The California senator Kamala Harris has been named as the Democratic running mate for Joe Biden, in the US presidential election.

The California Senator, who was unveiled at a special convention in Delaware, is the first black and Asian American woman to run on a presidential ticket. She said she wanted to build a country that “lives up to our values of truth, equality and justice.”
