African American Read In – February 12, 2023

Elementary students from the Jacksonville Recreation Afterschool Programs recited works by famous African Americans for the 2023 African American Read In at City Hall on February 12.

The program included additional poetry recited by Council Brian Jackson and words from White Oak HS Principal Joycelyn Cassidy. Also included were musical performances by ‘The Jewels’, soloist Iris Rodriguez and a spoken word performance by Antonio Hardison and Tashima Harris.
