Holly Robinson Peete talks autism in the Black community w/ Marc Lamont Hill

Actress Holly Robinson Peete joins “Black News Tonight” to discuss autism in the Black community.
Peete, whose son has autism, has been passionate about autism awareness for 20 years.
One in 54 children is diagnosed with autism every year, with Black kids less likely to receive a diagnosis.

“We need to diagnose our kids. Our kids in the African-American community get diagnosed, sometimes, two to five years later than other communities,” Peete tells Hill. “That’s very significant because the earlier you intervene with a child with autism or special needs, the better that child has a chance to come into our world.”
