Should Aligarh Muslim University, Jamia have minority status?

The Centre has created a storm after the Attorney General told the Supreme Court that institutions like Aligarh Muslim University should not have minority status. The AMU is fighting back, while others said states shouldn’t be funding institutions for one religion. Is minority status justified? We debate on Left, Right and Centre.
