Burkina Faso: Fresh coup attempt thwarted – authorities

Authorities in Burkina Faso announced Thursday (Jan. 18) the nation’s intelligence services sand security forces thwarted a new coup attempt.
Foreign funding was allegedly being unblocked for the accused to proceed with their plan, according to a statement by the government’s spokesperson.
