AFRO UNITED KINGDOM: The African Diaspora In The UK

This week we’re on my home turf, talking about black history in the UK! There has been a black presence in the UK since the Roman times. In this video we will hear about a black trumpeter in King Henry VIII’s court, a black victorian circus owner and even Queen Victoria’s African goddaughter! Did you know that every summer London hosts the biggest street carnival in Europe? The Notting Hill Carnival is an annual celebration of Afro-Caribbean culture in Britain.
