We dealt with “The History Of African-American Political Leadership In Detroit”. Our guests for this segment was Political Consultant & host of “Detroit Want’s To Know”, Steve Hood, Political Scientist & Editor of The Pan-African Newswire, Abayomi Azikiwe and Historian and Historian, Lecturer and Grandmaster of African Martial Arts, Kilindi Iyi.

We discussed the Political History of Detroit prior to 1973 when Coleman A. Young became Mayor and we’ll look at the 40 year history of African-American Political Leadership. Many people mistakenly think that it was African-American Leadership that derailed Detroit but they however don’t know that by August 1967 when the Detroit Riots happened, Detroit had already lost over 300,000 residents and was on Life Support when African-Americans took it over. Many people don’t understand and don’t want to talk about how policies from the Federal Government and The Big 3 helped to create African-American Blight and White Flight. We’ll deal with this and much more.
