The trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin isn’t explicitly about race, but it’s reviving discussions about police use of force and highlighting the deep distrust that can exist between cops and the communities they take an oath to protect. That unease can also fester within police departments themselves. Three Black female cops shared their experiences.
