Tampa officials reveal plans for new African American Art and Culture Center

Hillsborough County says the future African American Cultural Center will transform West Tampa.

Once complete and open to the public, it will be a unique gathering place for art exhibits and performances and will share the story of the African Americans and events that shaped Hillsborough County.

Tampa Mayor Jane Castor said the center will embrace the past to share Hillsborough County’s African American history with future generations.
