Narendra Modi led BJP government has repealed Aligarh Muslim University Act 1981 granting minority status for the minority run institution. Aligarh Muslim University sympathisers discussed the issue under the banner of Indian Muslims for Civil rights (ICMR) in a seminar “Repeal of AMU (Amendment) Act 1981- An Onslought on Minority Rights abd Way Forward” at Constitution club, New Delhi on 28th May 2023. Z. K. Faizan, former President of AMU Students Union, discussed the issue candidly.
