Korean-American Soo Kim says he's committed to Black content creators if DOJ approves $8B TEGNA deal

Minority ownership in the communications space has been declining in minority communities; however, the most geographically diverse broadcasters in the US are being purchased by minority owners.

Standard General is acquiring Tegna, a broadcast station group and the largest group owner of NBC-affiliated stations, and ABC affiliates’ fourth-largest group owner. If the acquisition is approved, Tegna would be the first Asian American-owned and operated major broadcast station group.

Minority ownership in the communications space has been declining in some minority communities. This move would help strengthen diverse voices in the broadcast space.
