Minority Languages: BBC World's Newsroom, Anne-Marie Tomchak

A report in the UK has raised the alarm over the survival of languages like Welsh – only half of young people in Wales consider themselves fluent and that they tend to tweet and text in English because they consider it more international. UNESCO says if nothing is done, almost half of the world’s languages will disappear by the end of this century. Irish language speaker Anne-Marie Tomchak finds some linguists in the World’s Newsroom to discuss the topic. She chats to Pablo Esparza (BBC Mundo) and Temtsel Hao (BBC Chinese Service)
