About MARQUIS
Marquis Smalls is an award winning Screenwriter/Director/Producer who produced one of the first webseries ever called The Chronicles in 2006. He has written 10 feature screenplays, 11 short films and 4 television pilots while producing the 11 short films that he wrote (Toilet Blunts, 22 Pick-Up, Dance Fever, Mother’s Day, True Playa, Papichulo, Hostage, Twit Pic, 3 man Weave, Communication, Sexting) as well as three others (CUTS) with Director Rashaad Ernest Green, (HARRIET RETURNS) with Tamu Favorite and (Mean Streets) with Wale Ogundipe.
Marquis has also produced two webseries
“The Chronicles”
and
“The Married Bachelor”
“That Sketch Show” is his third produced webseries
Marquis is a Brooklyn Tech and Penn State graduate who taught 6th – 8th grade Math, Social Studies and Writing in Paterson and Maplewood, NJ and Brooklyn and Harlem New York for over 15 years. He’s an educator at heart who found his entertainment voice while developing innovative teaching strategies in the classroom.
THAT SKETCH SHOW is an extension of that teaching experience that now he feels obligated to share with the world. KRS-ONE once coined the term “Edutainment” and Marquis Smalls strives to carry the torch now and into the future for what compelling, meaningful, educational entertainment should be.
