Charlotte woman died at resort in Mexico, video shows attack; Family seeking answers

A North Carolina family is trying to find out what happened to their daughter who died mysteriously in Mexico.
Full story:

Shanquella Robinson, from Charlotte, was found dead in her hotel room while vacationing with friends in Cabo San Lucas last month.

“It’s like a nightmare,” said her father, Bernard Robinson. “I can’t even sleep. I am just frustrated, my heart is just aching as a father, you know, a praying man. I just want some truth because this doesn’t even add up right.”

Bernard Robinson said he and his wife were told Shanquella died of alcohol poisoning, but the autopsy said she died due to injuries to the spinal cord and neck.

A video has since surfaced showing someone attacking Shanquella.
“By the grace of God, I think I am going to get to the bottom of this,” Bernard Robinson said. “It’s going to come out.”

Reporters from WSOC in Charlotte called phone numbers associated with all of Shanquella’s friends who went on the trip. Most of the numbers are now disconnected, but two of them went straight to voicemail.

Reporters texted both numbers and visited two homes in Charlotte where the friends supposedly lived.

No one answered at either home.
