the political quagmire in the labor party took another dimension yesterday as former deputy national chairman of the Labor party, lp, Calistus Uju Okafor has described the presidential ambition of former Anambra state governor, Peter Obi as still contentious.
in an interview with journalists yesterday in Abuja, Calistus Uju Okafor, who is currently challenging the constitutionality of the Abure-led national working committee of the party in court said, reiterated the readiness of his faction’s national working committee to open discussions with former governor peter obi, who had emerged as the candidate of the Julius Abure-led faction of the party, insisted that he had nothing against the person of peter obi, but maintained that the former governor was in the faction of the party whose leadership was allegedly not recognized by the lp’s constitution, adding that the constitution of the party recognizes him as the acting national chairman of the LP following the sacking of its late chairman, Abdulkadir Abdulsalam.
