Illinois’ massive crime reform package, the SAFE-T Act, is designed to eliminate cash bail reducing the number of people detained in jail while they await trial. But misinformation about the bill set to go into effect in January 2023 is popping up all over the internet, claiming that violent criminals will be released without bail. We have two Illinois lawmakers here to address the false narrative surrounding the “Illinois Purge bill.”
